Kaleidoscope
An exhibition presented by Mitcham Felters July 21st to 31st 2025 at Scots Church in Adelaide.
In this exhibition we bring you a veritable kaleidoscope. A collection of wearable art, wall art and sculptural forms created from wool fibres, combined with other lustrous fibres and fabrics through the process of wet felting and artistic endeavour.
“Creativity is a lot like looking at the world through a kaleidoscope. You look at a set of elements, the same ones everyone else sees, but then reassemble those floating bits and pieces into an enticing new possibility.” (Rosabeth Moss Kanter)
This beautifully describes the felt making process, whereby the artist works with a palette of fibre, fabric, and paper to create very individual pieces of art for your enjoyment.
Our exhibition was opened by Barbara Mullins (OAM) on 22nd July and was well attended. We have had very positive feedback with good attendances and some pleasing sales.
Our first felting demonstration was attended by about 10 enthusiastic people who remained engaged for 90 minutes with plenty of questions. A second demonstration will be given next week.
